"I'm not dead yet!" Pre-TouhouJam #5 update

We are updating you to inform that the game is not dead ... yet!
Also good news we/I will be making another game for Touhou Jam #5. Different team, some old, some new.

As for the project and an explanation for the delay.
Life happens and it comes at you fast, school, work, and sometimes something tragic comes crashing through your world and changes your whole perspective on life.
That said, the original team that was here in the beginning is no longer, many have moved on to bigger things.

In order to maintain the quality we have set, I have researched many aspects of the former team members skill sets to help reach that bar we have set. Character art quality will not change, however background art may vary. The writing may change a bit in the new route but I have complete confidence that we have an exciting story for you to enjoy.

Key contributors are still here as well as a new addition.
But this is close to a solo dev project at this point.

My promise to you who follow quietly and patiently

As my first game to receive first place in any category I will take this game as far as to completion for as long as it takes.

  • Failure quantified as: If 1 of the key contributors, myself and the character artist is no longer capable of contributing.
  • The completion is when the original plot line (shhh! its a secret) reaches it's logical conclusion while maintaining the same level of quality as the original Touhou Jam publishing

As of right now I'm holding a poll for tonight only before I post on whether or not I should withhold the new build, or release as is to show he progress. Comments and replies will carry more weight on the decision.

Please check tomorrow morning for any changes to this update.

Note that is was a bit of a rushed job so any criticism with that in mind will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou for your understanding

All of the new changes will be in the new... HELL ROUTE!

It's not quite dead, but I can't say it lives to tell the tale. (Arr...) I've tried to keep my distance, but the promise of a "finished game" felt just too real. Fortunately for you, Audacity seems to have deleted my hour-long reaction to the Satori route. Ye landlubbers got blessed by the Winds!! At any rate, you'll know my opinion, one way or another, soon enough. The Game is far from finished, but at least the suspense has worn off.

Don't act like I'm misbehaving, either, by posting this summary critique. I still have to live down the flogging I received for "improperly" crediting the original "Team", and when I see that all of my Music was cut and I'm only credited as a "Concept Writer" (coughs Intellectual Property Owner wretches excuse me) despite a large part of the Final, Published Script (the part with the punctuation and spelling, etc.) having been my original writing, it's a bit insulting.

I'm not trying to make this about me, though. It would just be nice for potential players and fans to know that this hype is a mirage.

That's all from me, for now. Don't show up outside my house or something. You'll know how to reach me, soon enough.

Rinzai.

The game is finished.
You have no say on the production, you were fired after the game jam for reasons I will not disclose to the wider public.
My credit to you was a matter of courtesy to your transient involvement.  Which was effectively overwritten by 4 other people over a half-dozen times.

The weight of any opinions you may have is fabrication of your own ego.

There is no value in a critique from man who perceives everything he writes in their first draft to be perfect. And thus your critique is worthless.

And yes I did cut your music. I didn't want your music in my game.
